Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modelling profession in Italy. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. From there to starring in a small role in the movie Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed change from modeling to acting. Models aren't considered great actors so they tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy didn't give up, and ultimately she was offered bigger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, she was cast part in the leading role of the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film became a massive film at the box office and Amy has finally achieved the recognition that she was seeking for more than 10 years. Amy went on to star in major films like the Crank Series opposite Jason Statham, and Shameless.
